How to make an ICO file
- Drop your logo or image into the box. A square PNG or SVG of at least 256×256 px works best.
- Tick the sizes you need. For a website favicon, 16, 32 and 48 px is the standard set.
- Download the .ico file.
Add the favicon to your website
Upload favicon.ico to the root of your site and add this line inside <head>:

Which sizes should I include?
- 16 × 16 — browser tabs and bookmarks.
- 32 × 32 — high-resolution tabs and the Windows taskbar.
- 48 × 48 — Windows desktop and site shortcuts.
- 256 × 256 — large Windows icons (for app or folder icons).
Non-square images are centred on a transparent square, so nothing gets stretched.
