How to convert STL to OBJ
- Drop your 3D files into the box.
- Choose the output: OBJ, STL or GLB.
- Download the converted models — the list shows the triangle count and dimensions of each one.
Popular conversions
- STL to OBJ — open 3D-print files in Blender, Maya or a game engine.
- OBJ to STL — prepare a model for your slicer (Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio).
- 3MF to STL — export a print project to the most widely supported format.
- STL to GLB — show your model on the web, in AR or in three.js.
What is kept?
The shape (all triangles) is always converted exactly. STL has no colours or materials; OBJ and GLB keep separate parts and basic colours where the source has them. Units aren't stored in STL or OBJ, so the numbers stay the same (usually millimetres for 3D printing).
Frequently asked questions
Are my models uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in your browser; your designs never leave your device.
Can I convert a 3MF project with several plates?
All objects in the 3MF are exported together into one file.
Why does my PLY not convert?
Gaussian splat and point-cloud PLY files have no triangles. Use our Gaussian Splat Converter for those.
Is the STL binary or ASCII?
Binary STL — it is much smaller and every slicer supports it.
