How to turn ChatGPT into a PowerPoint
- Ask ChatGPT for a presentation outline, for example: "Create a 6-slide presentation about … with a title, a heading per slide and 3–5 bullet points each."
- Copy the answer and paste it into the box. The slide preview updates as you type.
- Pick a theme and font, then click Download PowerPoint (.pptx).
- Open it in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote and add your images and finishing touches.
How the answer becomes slides
- The first big heading becomes the title slide, with the sentence below it as subtitle.
- Every section heading starts a new slide with that heading as its title.
- Bullet and numbered lists become real PowerPoint bullets, including sub-points.
- Tables become editable PowerPoint tables.
- Code keeps a monospace box; formulas become readable text such as x², √(…) and a/b.
- Slides with too much text continue on a "(cont.)" slide instead of overflowing.
Prompts that give good slides
- "Make a 10-slide pitch deck for … Use ## for each slide title and short bullet points, no paragraphs."
- "Summarise this article as presentation slides: one key idea per slide, max 5 bullets."
- "Create a lesson about … for 14-year-olds: title slide, 6 content slides and a quiz slide."
Short bullets work much better on slides than long paragraphs, so ask for them explicitly.
Editing the presentation
Everything in the file is normal, editable PowerPoint content: text boxes, bullets and tables. Change the design afterwards with PowerPoint's Design tab or Designer, or apply your company template by copying the slides into it (Home → Paste → Use Destination Theme).
