How to compress a video
- Choose the quality and resolution first — Medium + 720p is a great default for sharing.
- Drop your videos into the box. Compression starts right away.
- Download the smaller files; the list shows how much each one shrank.
Which settings should I use?
- Email or WhatsApp: Medium, 720p — usually 70–90% smaller than a phone video.
- Discord (10 MB limit): Low, 480p for clips up to about a minute.
- Keep it sharp: High, keep original — smaller, but nearly identical.
- Remove sound for screen recordings and silent clips to save a little more.
Private and free, no watermark
The video is decoded and re-encoded to H.264 MP4 with your browser's built-in encoder, often using your graphics card. Nothing is uploaded, there is no watermark and no file limit beyond your device's memory.
Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded?
No. Compression happens in your browser; your video never leaves your device.
How much smaller will it get?
Phone videos typically shrink 70–90% at Medium quality and 720p. Already-compressed videos shrink less.
Will there be a watermark?
No. Never.
Why is my video bigger after compressing?
If the original was already very efficient, re-encoding can't make it smaller. Choose a lower resolution or quality.
