How to convert SRT to VTT
- Open or drop your .srt or .vtt file, or paste the subtitles.
- The other format appears instantly. Use Shift to move all subtitles earlier (negative) or later (positive).
- Download the converted file.
SRT vs VTT
- SRT (SubRip) — the most common subtitle format; used by video players, editors and YouTube.
- VTT (WebVTT) — the web standard for HTML5
<video>, Vimeo and many streaming players. It adds styling and positioning.
When converting VTT to SRT, positioning and styles are removed (SRT doesn't support them); bold, italic and underline are kept.
Fix subtitles that are out of sync
If every subtitle shows up 2 seconds too late, enter -2 in Shift. All timings move together.
